SWOP East recognizes the importance of addressing the issues facing individuals trafficked in the sex industry unwillingly. We wholly endorse efforts to bring freedom to anyone unwillingly participating in the sex industry. However, we differ from many organizations doing anti trafficking work in that we are not limited to a false construct that all in the sex industry are unwilling participants. We are also different from many organizations and activists doing anti trafficking work in that we do not work from a perspective of rights vs. rescues.

Advocating human rights for all sex workers does not take away from efforts to bring freedom to those suffering forced participation.
